Percentile - Indicator Formula

The order quantity n is a fractional value q of n, which divides the unit data set examined into two parts with values proportional to n and n-1. One part contains values lower than q, the other part higher than q.

Order Quantiles 1/n, 2/n, ..., (n-1)/n divide the unit data set into n equally populated parts; Order Quantile a=m/n is known as m-esimo n-ile.

The percentile, in order m/100, divides the set of unit data (population) into 100 equal parts, expressing the order in percentage: m/100=m%.

The percentile is a particular quantile expressed as a percentage.
